OFFICIAL: Orlando Pirates confirm the signing of Blacks Stars Number one Richard Ofori

South African giants Orlando Pirates have confirmed the arrival of Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

Richard Ofori, who has been a long term target for the Buccaneers after establishing himself at Maritzburg joins on a 3-year-contract.

Upon putting pen to paper, the Ghanaian international told Orlandopiratesfc.com: 

“I am very happy to be here. It is a dream for me to be a part of this exciting squad and to work with the technical team.

“I also look forward to meeting my new teammates and being part of this exciting new project.” 

Ofori joined Maritzburg United in 2018 and went on to record 83 appearances in the league, keeping 29 clean sheets.

The 26-year-old was nominated for the best goalkeeper award in his debut South Africa Premiership season.

Ofori was also nominated for the KickOff Magazine goalkeeper of the 2019/2020 season.

The Black Stars number one is expected to improve the Orlando Pirates side that aims at winning the 2020/21 South African league and doing well in the CAF Confederation Cup.
