Posted by Nsoatreman and Liberty Professionals kicked off the second edition of the Division One Super Cup at the Kyebi Astro Turf in the Eastern Region.
The game between the newly promoted side and former Premier League side ended in an entertaining 1-1 draw.
Liberty Professionals had a bright start to the game but it was Nsoatreman who opened the scoring in the 24th minute. Frederick Boateng curled a beautiful free kick round the wall and into the net.
Just minutes into the second half, Liberty Professionals pulled parity through goalkeeper Daniel Amissah, scoring from a spot-kick. The remaining minutes of game saw no goals as it ended 1-1.
In the second game of Group A, Premier League new boys Kotoku Royals defeated Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0, Richard Dzikoe scored the only goal of the game with a well taken strike in the 7th minute.
The competition will continue tomorrow, with teams in Group B clashing. Samartex face Young Apostles and Tamale City clash with Tema Youth.
