Hearts of Oak midfielder Gladson Awako has named his best three players in the just ended Ghana Premier League season.

According to Awako who endured a torrid 2021/22 season with the Phobians, his teammate Daniel Afriyie and Bechem United duo Augustine Okrah and Clinton Doudou are the players who impressed him the most.

Awako sidelined AshantiGold’s Yaw Annor and Asante Kotoko’s Frank Etouga who finished the season as top two scorers in the league with 22 and 21 goals respectively.

“To me, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh , Clinton Duodu, and Augustine Okrah have been my top three players in the Ghana Premier league,” Gladson Awako told Akoma FM.

Despite what was an unsatisfactory League campaign for Hearts of Oak, Daniel Afriyie was fantastic throughout the season. He scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists from 26 league games, a feat which earned him a call-up to the Black Stars.

Augustine Okrah and Clinton Doudu were as well fantastic for perennial achievers Bechem United. The duo helped the team secure a third place finish, with Okrah finishing the season as the teams’ top scorer in the league with 14 goals and 5 assists 32 goals.
