It was a nightmare for 5 Ghanaian players in Bundesliga as they suffered relegation with their respective clubs after the final round of games in Bundesliga.

The 2019/2020 Bundesliga season ended on Saturday. Bayern Munich were crowned champions for the 8th time in 10 seasons, but 5 Ghanaian players found themselves at the wrong end of the league table.

Kasim Nuhu Adams, Nana Ampomah, Bernard Tekpetey and Kelvin Ofori slumped with Fortuna Dusseldorf while German-born Christopher Antwi-Adjei went down with Paderborn.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Paderborn finished bottom of the table with 20 points, relegation was already confirmed before the final game of the season.

Düsseldorf came into the final game in 16th place, two points ahead of Bremen and aware that a draw would probably be enough to secure the relegation play-off spot thanks to their superior goal difference.

However, it needed in tears for Düsseldorf as they lost 3-0 to Union Berlin, with goals coming from Anthony Ujah, Christian Gentner and Suleiman Abdullahi.

In the other relegation fixture, Werder Bremen pulverize Koln 6-1, the result meant that Werder Bremen will play in the playoff whiles Düsseldorf and the Ghanaian quartet will play in Bundesliga 2 next season.

Kasim Adams will not be joining the team in Bundesliga 2 as he will be heading back to his parent club Hoffenheim.

Bernard Tekpetey will be with Düsseldorf on loan for another season as he joined the club from Schalke on a 2 year loan deal, but with Tekpetey struggling for playing time, there are chances the loan deal could be terminated prematurely.

Nana Ampomah and youngster Kelvin Ofori will be with the team in Bundesliga 2.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei on the other hand will be with Paderborn in Bundesliga 2, but there are rumors already linking him with a move away from the club this summer.
