NEWS IN: Young Red Bull FC secure Division One League promotion

Young Red Bull FC have secured promotion to the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League after emerging winners of the playoff to determine the replacement of West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in Zone Two.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in accordance to its articles arranged a three-way all-play-all league to determine which team will replace WAFA in Zone Two of the Division One League following their withdrawal from the league to focus on youth football development in the Volta Region.

The mini league involved three second placed teams in the three Regional Second Division Leagues in Zone 2, which are; Mahala Football Academy from Ashanti Region, Team Move FC from Western Region and Young Red Bull FC of Central Region.

Young Red Bull FC emerged victorious in the mini league after winning all their two games, beating Mahala Football Academy 2-0 in their first game and Team Move FC 1-0 in the final game.

The results means Young Red Bull FC topped the standings of the playoff with 6 points, while Team Move and Mahala Football Academy finished in second and third place respectively with a point each.

Young Red Bull FC will play in Zone Two of the 2023/24 Division One League which will kick off on Wednesday, October 4 across the three Zones.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected to announce the fixtures of the new season in the coming days.
