Erstwhile President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Lepowura Alhaji Mohammed Nuru-Deen (MND) Jawula has been confirmed dead.
Alhaji MND Jawula is reported to have passed away in the United States of America (USA). However, details of his death remains unknown.
The former GFA President who’s born to a royal family in Kpandai – a town in the Northern region of Ghana died the age of 73.

Alhaji MND Jawula served as the President of the Ghana FA from 1997-2001. Before occupying the position to become the 20th President of the Ghana FA, he served as Vice-President of the federation under Nana Sam Brew Butler. He was also the chairman of the Black Starlets (U-17) team that won the FIFA World Cup in Ecuador in 1995.
Under his tenure as the GFA boss, the Black Starlets won silver and bronze at the 1997 and 1999 World Cups respectively. The Male U-20 as well won silver at 2001 World Cup.
MND Jawula also served as a CAF Interclub Committee member, chairman of the Ghana Premier League Management Committee and also as a Board member of Ghanaian side Real Tamale United (RTU).

In Politics, he worked in a number of ministries including the Ministry of Finance as an administrator, Chief Director, Ministry of Harbours and Railways and the Ministry of Health.
