Kumasi Asante Kotoko has completed the signing of midfielder Rashid Nortey, a statement from the club has confirmed.
Rashid Nortey joins the Porcupine Warriors on a two and a half-deal after leaving Medeama as a free agent earlier this month.
“Midfielder Rashid Nortey has signed for Asante Kotoko as a free player,” said a statement on Asante Kotoko’s official website.
“Rashid has penned two and a half-deal after running down his contract with Medeama SC.”
“Rashid comes with enormous quality and experience and will only improve our team to help us achieve our targets this season.”
“We welcome our new signing and wish him all the best,” the statement ended.
Rashid Nortey has been one of the performing midfielders in the betPawa Premier league since arriving on the scene at Medeama in 2017.
The diminutive midfielder made over 100 appearances for Medeama in his 6 years stay, making the team a force to reckon with in the league.
Nortey has made an appearance for the Black Stars, one which came in June 2021 in a 1-0 friendly defeat to Morocco.
