NEWS IN: Asante Kotoko announce the arrival of former Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has announced the signing of defender Mohammed Alhassan.

Alhassan joins the Porcupine Warriors on a one and a half – year deal after leaving Hearts of Oak as a free agent in December 2022.

“Mohammed Alhassan has joined Asante Kotoko on a one and a half – year deal.,” Asante Kotoko announced the signing of the 30-year old on its website.

“Alhassan , having distinguished himself in the Ghana league, played an important role in ensuring the qualification of the Black Galaxies into the just-ended CHAN.

“Alhassan has won everything domestically and he is expected to add enormous experience to our team in our quest to achieve our targets this season and beyond.

“We welcome Mo Alhassan to the Porcupine family and wish him all the best,” the statement ended.

Mohammed Alhassan has been one of the best defenders in the Ghana Premier League since arriving at Hearts of Oak from WAFA in 2018.

The center-back made nearly 100 appearances for Hearts of Oak in all competitions and helped the team win the Ghana Premier League title, Two MTN FA Cups, the Super Cup and the President Cup.

Alhassan was part of the Black Stars B team that won the WAFU Zone B Cup of Nation staged and won by Ghana in 2019.

He was also part of the team that qualified the local national team to the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) played in Algeria recently. However, he failed to make the final squad for the competition.
