Nana Yaw Amponsah’s hope of becoming new Kotoko CEO dashes away as he’s rejected by Manhyia

Bankroller of Phar Rangers, Nana Yaw Amponsah has seen his hopes of becoming the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko dash away in thin air like a gas.

The highly touted young football administrator has been rejected by Manhyia, stating he can’t keep a secret.

Asante Kotoko’s search for a new CEO commenced after the club announced the departure of George Amoako earlier this month after an administrative reshuffle.

The Porcupine warriors have since then been on the hunt for a new CEO as the club hopes to look into a new direction. As the club aims at winning trophies again and doing well in Africa like the club previously did in the 70’s and 80’s.

According to reports, Nana Yaw Amponsah was considered favorite to land the job following a meeting between himself and the club last week Tuesday, but the move has stalled.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Opemsuo FM, Special Assistant to the Chief of staff of the Manhyia Palace, Kwame Aboagye Mensah explained why the move stalled.

“We have heard the news circulating in the media that the Board of Directors have settled on him [Nana Yaw Amponsah]. It’s not true and I repeat it’s not true,” Kwame Aboagye Mensah told Opemsuo FM in an exclusive interview.

“Everyone should take note that Asante Kotoko is a big brand and it can’t work with someone who is not secrecy.”

“Being interviewed by the Board of Directors and the next hour everything said during the meeting is in the media….how can we work with such individual,” he quizzed.

“If people have forgot, let me remind that of Osei Kuffour who publicly said he’s the new President of Asante Kotoko. Was Osei Kuffour appointed to lead Asante Kotoko after all the interviews. It’s a big no.”

“We have plans for the club and announcements are not to be made by the public but His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II” he concluded.

Kotoko will now turn their attention to another name to fill the vacant CEO position.
