Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has revealed that the national team is full of politics and that has been the paramount reason why the team has been unsuccessful over the last 3 decades.
The Black Stars haven’t won a major trophy since 1982, and the Jiangsu Suning midfielder believes that politics in the national team has contributed much to that.
The industrious midfielder in an interview on Angel TV reiterated that the NDC and the Npp’s approach to national issues, especially in football is the main reason why the team hasn’t won a laurel since 1982.
“I will speak the truth today, do you know our problem about the game? Maybe we know but we don’t want to say it but i think politics ruins the Blacks Stars at times. When NDC is in power, NPP doesn’t want us to win and vice versa,” the 29 year old revealed.
Wakaso has been an integral member of the Black Stars since 2012. He in 2013 won the top scorer award at the AFCON, he was also part of the Black Stars team that finished runners up at the AFCON in 2015.
Said this some years ago because of some level of evidence I had but people thought it was too wild an allegation. There you ve it from @WakasoBobby. Party politics one of our huge problems at Black Stars
