Reports coming in from RMC Sport this afternoon indicates that Ligue 1 side Rennes have today struck an agreement with Spanish side Real Valladolid worth €12m including bonuses for 21-year-old Ghanaian central defender Mohammed Salisu.
It is currently unclear whether Stade Rennes have merely activated the player’s release clause, which stood at €12m, or if they have negotiated a slightly lower or more tranched arrangement with the La Liga club.
The only hurdle standing between Rennes and securing the youngster’s signature is to find an agreement with him and to convince him to join. English Premier League side Southampton are also interested in his services.
Mohammed Salisu has been outstanding this season for Valladolid in La Liga, the young center back has made more clearances (135) than any other player in the league this season.
