Head Coach of Ajax, Maurice Steijn has debunked reports linking Mohammed Kudus away from the club.

Kudos who’s under contract with Ajax until 2025 and reportedly rejected a one-year extension in April this year has been liked with a move away from the club all summer. Per reports, Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton have all showed interest in the player.

The reports further stipulates that Ajax has reached an agreement with Brighton to sell the midfielder in the region of €40million (£34.5m; $44m) and the only thing left for the deal to be closed is agreement between the player and Brighton.

Responding to the reports, Maurice Steijn stated that there’s nothing concrete on the table for Kudus, adding that the Ghanaian is only focused on Ajax.

“I have read a lot of reports about Kudus this week but there is literally nothing right now that points to him leaving,” Steijn said after Kudus scored in the season opener.

“I spoke to him this week and he is fully focused on Ajax. He is a jewel for Ajax.”

Despite the heavy rumors, Kudus kept his head cool and was fantastic for Ajax in a 4-1 win against Heracles in the opening game of the season on Saturday.

He scored a goal and was fouled for penalty which resulted in the fourth goal. Skipper Steven Bergwijn scored a brace, while debutant Jakov Meric scored the other goal.
