Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been declared fit to feature for Ajax over the weekend against Heracles Almelo in the Dutch Eredivisie.
The Ghanaian youngster has been out of action since November 2021 due to a rib injury. Kudus picked up the injury whiles featuring for the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars in the final Group G game of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa in Cape Coast.
The youngster returned to training last month and was part of the Ajax team that travelled to Portugal for mid-season training camp.
Despite Kudus’ early return to training, he missed out on the 2022 African Cup Nations (AFCON) due to lack of match fitness as Ghana went on to endure their worst performance in the history of the AFCON, bowing out of the competition without a win and with only a single point.
Ahead of Ajax’s home game against Heracles Almelo on Sunday, Head Coach, Erik ten Hag has divulged that Kudus is now fit and will be involved on Sunday.
“Mohammed Kudus is available again. He will also be in the squad for Sunday’s game,” Erik ten Hag told the press on Friday.
Kudus has been battling with injuries since he joined Ajax from Nordsjaelland in July 2020, making just 28 appearances for the team in all competitions.
