Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus has downplayed reports that he has decided not to play for the Black Stars again due to spiritual attacks from his teammates.
Per a report from Kessben FM, Mohammed Kudus who missed the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon due to an injury has informed the FA that he will no longer represent the Black Stars due to spiritual works aimed at him by some of his teammates.
Reacting to the reports, the Ajax midfielder expressed his disappointment over the comments, adding that the comments are the direct opposite of what he represents.
“On my path to recovery, It’s very disheartening with all the aspersions & allegations with inaccurate comments about my national team mates citing me from various media & blogging handles. It’s highly unfortunate but all these comments are direct opposite of what I stand for,” Kudus wrote in a statement.
“I will like to use this medium to distant my self from all unfounded comments & information citing me. I humbly call on Ghanaians to please disregard & treat it with all the contempt (it’s) deserves.
“As part of the official squad, I am to blame as my team mates. But I believe in Ghana, Ghana runs through my veins. We are with immersed in talent and with or without me BlackStars will come back stronger & shine again.
“#KudusDream is unfazed & remains resolute in championing the course of my roots Ghana 🇬🇭 as well AFC Ajax .
“Thank you all, I am because of You,” the statement ended.

Mohammed Kudus who joined Ajax from Danish side Nordsjælland in July 2020 hasn’t been in action since he picked up an injury whiles playing for the Black Stars against South Africa in the 2021 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.
The talented midfielder is recuperating from the injury and was part of the Ajax team that travelled to Portugal earlier this month for mid-season camping.
Kudus is expected to return to action at the start of next month.
So is ending his carrier in the black stars right
