Medeama midfielder Richard Boadu has expressed his desire to see the Ghana Premier league return.
The Premier league has been suspended since May 16 due to the ban on social gathering to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Any hope of seeing the Premier league return was hindered when the first gentleman of the country announced last month that the ban on social gathering has been extended till July 31.
Most Football administrators in the country have expressed their disappointment at the decision and called on the GFA to cancel the league, but Richard Badu has a different idea as he wants football to return.
“I want us to continue, I don’t want to see the league season annulled because Kotoko and Ashanti Gold will be representing Ghana in Africa”, he told IPT radio.
“We at Medeama have worked so hard and are determined to play in the champions league, so you can’t cancel the league and allow Kotoko and Ashanti Gold to represent Ghana again. It is not possible, we must continue and the winner should rather be our representative.”
The midfielder who idolizes retired Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso added that Medeama will win the league should the league season continue, he further stated that Medeama will still win the league even if the season is restarted.
Richard Boadu has been an integral member of the Medeama team this season. The defensive midfielder has slotted in perfectly for the departed Justice Blay.
Medeama were top of the league before they suffered 6 points deduction for fielding an unqualified player in their match day 12 encounter against Olympics at the Akoon Park.
Medeama currently lie 6th on the league table with 24 points, 4 points behind leaders Aduana Stars.
