Medeama mutually part ways with three players

Medeama SC have mutually parted ways with trio Ernest Mwankurinah, Ishmael Hammond and Darlington Gyanfosu Appiah.

Ernest Mwankurinah joined the Mauve and Yellow in 2022 after leaving Techiman Eleven Wonders. The midfielder made 7 appearances for the team in the league.

Darlington Gyanfosu Appiah on the other hand joined Medeama in 2021 from bitterest rivals Karela United. He made over 30 appearances for the team in two seasons, scoring two goals.

Ishmael Hammond as well leaves the team after joining in 2022 following the expiration of his contract with Elmina Sharks, where he made over 80 league appearances, a form he failed to replicate at Medeama.

In a short statement, Medeama thanked the three players for their contribution in the team’s 2022/23 league triumph.

“We would like to thank Ernest, Ishmael and Darlington for their contribution to the team and wish them well in their future endeavours,” said part of the statement on the club’s website.

Meanwhile, the club has announced the arrival of forward Benjamin Bature and defender Ibrahim Larbi. The duo join midfielder Godknows Dzakpasu and Kamaradini Mamudu as the club’s signings this window.

The Mauves and Yellows are currently preparing for the CAF Champions League, where they are scheduled to come up against Remo Stars of Nigeria in the preliminary round on Sunday, August 20 in Cape Coast and Sunday, August 27 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ogum State.

Medeama as part of preparations for the games, will take on newly promoted betPawa Premier League side, Nations FC and Togolese giants, ASKO de Kara in friendly games on ‪Thursday, August 3, and Sunday, August 6 respectively.

Both games are scheduled to take place at the Cape Coast Stadium, where the club will play their home games in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League.
