Medeama and Dreams handed tricky draws for their respective CAF campaigns

Medeama SC and Dreams FC have learnt their opponents for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.

The two teams will represent Ghana in the two prestigious continental competitions as winners of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup.

Medeama will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League as winners of the Premier League, while Dreams will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup as winners of the MTN FA Cup.

The Mauves and Yellow have been drawn against Nigerian fold Remo Stars in the first preliminary round of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League

Medeama will first host Remo Stars between August, 18-20, before traveling to Nigeria for the return leg which will be played between August 25-27, 2023.

The winner of the two-legged tie will play against 20-time Guinean champions, Horoya in the second round of qualifiers, with the first legs scheduled for September 15-17 and the second leg September 29 to October 1.

For Dreams, they’ll come up against Guinean fold Milo FC in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The first leg will be played in Guinea between August, 18-20, and the second leg in Accra between August 25-27, 2023.

The winner of the tie will progress to the second and final round of the qualifiers, where they’ll play the winner of AS Dounes of Niger Vs Kallon FC of Sierra Leone between September 15-17 and September 29 to October 1.

Milo FC

Should Medeama and Dreams emerge victorious in the two rounds of the qualifiers, they’ll qualify for the Group Stages.
