Algerian fold Mouloudia Club (MC) d’Alger has reached an agreement to mutually part ways with Ghanaian forward Joseph Esso, a statement from the club on Monday revealed.
“Maloudia Algeria club management has reached an agreement with Ghanaian player Joseph Esso to terminate the contract that links him to the team by compromise,” read the statement from the club.
“The “Dean” management extends its thanks to the player for everything he has given to the team during his tenure in the green and red shirt and for treating him with perfect behavior for two and a half seasons and wishes him all the best in his next trial,” the statement ended.
Joseph Esso arrived at MC Alger in March 2021 from Dreams FC, where he scored 12 goals and provided 3 assists in 18 appearances in the first round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
The forward hit the ground running at the Algerian side in his first season, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists in 18 appearances in the second half of the season.
In the 2021/22 season, Joseph Esso featured in 33 league games, managing to score 3 goals and providing an assist.
The former Hearts of forward did not enjoy the best of seasons in the 2022/23 season, making only 14 appearances for the team, scoring a goal and providing an assist.
Joseph Esso was part of the Black Galaxies team that finished as runners-up at the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal, where he scored two goals and was named in the competition’s team of the tournament.
