Maxwell Konadu divulges plan to trim squad, confirms talks with eight top players

Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has revealed that he will be trimming his squad ahead of the 2020/21 football season slated to commence in October.

In spite of the ban on the club by Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II not sign any player this transfer window, Maxwell Konadu added that his side is working on bringing in Eight new faces.

“We have thirty-eight players in our fold. Some of them have returned from injuries whiles others have also rejoined us after their loan spells”, he told Angel FM.

“We will be releasing most of them because we have decided to work with only 28 players for next season”

“It’s true that we are holding talks with top eight players to strengthen the team,” he added.

According to recent reports, Asante Kotoko is in talks with Shafiu Mumuni, Latif Anabila, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Joseph Esso and Uganda centre-back Juuko.
