Kumasi Asante Kotoko have informed eleven of their players from last season that their services will no longer be needed at the club, a report from Oyerepa FM has disclosed.

Asante Kotoko is currently under a restructure both on and off the field after a horrendous 2022/23 season that saw the team fail to retain the Premier League title and as well make significant impact in the CAF Champions League and FA Cup.

Last month, Manhyia announced the dissolution of both the technical and management team, while appointing a four-man Interim Management Committee (IMC) to prepare the team for the new season which kicks off next month.

The IMC is made up of; Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, Chief of Kontomponiafere and a chartered accountant, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, the administrative manager, James Kwesi Appiah as Technical Director and Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum as Head Coach.

Per a report from Oyerepa FA, the IMC has met eleven (11) players and communicated to them that their services will no longer be needed.

The players include; Abdul Rafiu Yakubu, Maxwell Agyemang, Andrews Kwadwo Appau, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, Samuel Boateng and Mohammed Alhassan who joined only last season after leaving Hearts of Oak.

Others are; Ernest Osei Opoku, Evans Adomako, Clinton Opoku, Charles Owusu, and Dickson Afoakwa.

Meanwhile, the club has reportedly reached an agreement to sign Michael Kyei Dwamena from West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) and also, Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara from Berekum Chelsea.

The trio are expected to wrap up their deals next week and join the rest of the team for preseason camping in Beposo.
