Manchester United legend Roy Keane has compared Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey to his nemesis Patrick Vieira.
Thomas Partey, who joined Arsenal on deadline day from Atletico Madrid for €50m was exceptional on Sunday evening when Arsenal defeated United 1-0 and in the process recorded their first victory at Old Trafford since 2006.
Speaking after the game, Roy Keane who has had numerous on field and off field battles with Patrick Viera during their hay days compared Thomas Partey to the French midfielder.
“He was outstanding. He’s obviously no mug having played in big games. When you watch a player live that’s when you can judge a player and the more I look at him the more I wish he was in the United midfield. He’s big, strong and aggressive – and he can pass it forward. He can deal with the ball.
“I had my battles with Vieira and I think this kid has got a chance of matching what Patrick used to do.”
Arsenal will on Thursday play Molde in the Europa League and Thomas Partey will hope he will be handed another start .
