Red Bull Salzburg and Ghanaian midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru has divulged his dreams to emulate former Salzburg stars Sadio Mane, Erling Bruat Haaland etc.
The Austrian side in recent years has been a feeder club to top European sides. The club has developed the likes Sadio Mane, Naby Keïta, Erling Bruat Haaland, Dayot Upamecano etc.
Speaking in a video chat with Joy Fm, Majeed Ashimeru revealed how the big moves made by former Salzburg stars motivates him and how he wants to emulate them.
“It motivates everyone in the club and everyone joining the club. When you watch the players they’ve produced to the top clubs for the past 6 years, it is amazing.”
“It is something that motivates me every time, and I know if I work so hard I’ll get this opportunity. This motivates me and the people who are still here”
“When I work very hard the chances will come, because [Salzburg] is a great club that has developed top players.
“Salzburg is a professional club, so when you’re here you learn a lot and you’ll be well developed, it is a good club to be in”, he added.
Majeed Ashimeru joined Salzburg from WAFA in 2017. He has since then been on loan at three different clubs (Austria Lustenau, Wolfsberger, St. Gallen). He has this season become an integral member of the team, playing in 15 league games and scoring twice.
