Red Bull Salzburg midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru has pledged to spend on charity on his birthday.
The former WAFA midfielder will on Sunday, October 10, 2020 be celebrating his 23rd birthday.
To honor the day, Majeed has vowed to spend GH¢300 on 40 needy and underprivileged people, amounting to GH¢12,000.
Ashimeru took to his Facebook page to share the news: “In these perilous time Allah has shown his favor on me. I will be a year older on the 10th. In relation to that I would humbly wish to give the little I have to the Society especially those in need of it. 300 ghc would be distributed to 40 people who truly and genuinely needs it.”
“In order not to give to the wrong people pls DM me why I should credit your account with the said amount. It could be a friend or family,” he added.
This latest gesture adds to the long list of charity works and donations made by the Salzburg midfielder.
In April, he distributed bags of rice, cooking oil and hand sanitizers during coronavirus lockdown period.
He followed it up during the month of Ramadan by giving out groceries including beverages, tin of milk, sugar and fruits.
Prior to the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, Majeed donated assorted items (bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil and 300 live birds) worth over GH¢35,000 to support the celebrations.
