Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru through the Majeed Ashimeru Foundation has made donations to the Maamobi and Nima muslim community ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

The foundation gave out bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil and live birds to some selected people in the Maamobi and Nima community – the community where he grew up before he got scouted by West African Football Academy at the age of 12.

Majeed Ashimeru also made cash donations to several other people. The essence of the donations is to help the less privileged in the twin communities to enjoy the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

This latest gesture adds to the long list of charity works and donations made by the Anderlecht midfielder.

Majeed Ashimeru is currently enjoying a fine season with Anderlecht in the Belgian Jupiler League and also in Europe. He has made 37 appearances for the team in the two competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists.

Last week, Majeed scored his first goal in Europe to give Anderletch a 2-goal advantage in the first leg of the Quarterfinals of the UEFA Conference League. Howbeit, they failed to hold on to the advantage, losing 2-0 in the return leg and 4-1 on penalty shootouts.
