English Championship side Burnley have shown interest in signing Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru from Anderlecht, according to a report from Belgium Journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
Majeed Ashimeru was one of the best midfielders in the Belgium Pro league last season. The 24-year old made 31 league appearances for Anderlecht, scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists.
According to a report from Sacha Tavolieri, Majeed Ashimeru’s performances has made him a top target for Burnley, a side currently managed by his former boss at Anderlecht, Vincent Kompany.
Kompany knows Majeed Ashimeru very well and is a big fan of his having managed him for a year and half at Anderlecht. The former Manchester City defender first signed Majeed on loan from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2021, before making the deal permanent in July 2022.
Majeed Ashimeru is currently valued at 3.5 million euros by Transfermarkt and should Burnley and Vincent Kompany be able to prise him away from Anderlecht, they’ll have to pay more than that.
