Legon Cities strike late to sink Hearts of Oak hearts

Youngster Osman Amadu came from the bench to score late for Legon Cities and sink Hearts of Oak hearts in a 1-1 draw.

Legon Cities had the lion share of the possession in the opening minutes of the game but found themselves a goal down in the 12th minute, Isaac Mensah leapt high to head in a corner-kick from Sulley Muntari.

Hearts of Oak nearly doubled their in the 38th minute but goalkeeper William Essu pulled off a good save to deny a header from Isaac Mensah from hitting the net.

Legon Cities dominated the opening minutes of the second half but were unable to trouble goalkeeper Richard Attah.

Hearts of Oak came close to doubling their lead in the 85th minute, William Essu pulled off a superb save to deny Daniel Afriyie.

Few minutes later, William Essu once again kept Legon Cities in the game, this time with a timely challenge on Kofi Kordzi who was clear on goal.

In the final minutes of the game, youngster Osman Amadu tapped the ball into the net after a good work by Jonah Attuquaye to make it 1-1 and steal a point for his team.

The draw leaves Legon Cities in 10th place with 20 points from 18 games, whiles Hearts of Oak move to 6th place with 26 points.
