Legendary Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper Ali Jarrah has picked his best three goalkeepers.
Speaking in an interview with Citi TV, the former shot-stopper and now goalkeepers trainer named Elmina Sharks goalkeeper, Suad Bawa Martey, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Kwame Baah and Tottenham Hotspurs skipper, Hugo Lloris as his best three goalkeepers.
“To pick my top three will be very difficult but I have no choice,” he said.
“I will pick Suad Bawa Martey of Elmina Sharks. Secondly, I will pick Kwame Baah of Asante Kotoko.
“He [Kwame Baah] has done very well because he went to the WAFU tournament in Senegal and coming back to Kotoko unseat Felix Annan, I think he has done brilliantly well.
“My last pick is Hugo Lloris of Tottenham Hotspurs. He has done very well with France and his club side. He has won the World Cup and its a big achievement,” he added.
It is no news to anyone that the last time the Black Stars won a major trophy was in 1982 in Libya. Ali Jarrah backed new Black Stars manager C.K Akonnor to do well and break the voodoo.
“C.K needs support,” he toldCiti Tv’s The Tracker Show.
“The materials are there and through support we can break that jinx.
“C.K Akonnor was appointed because he is capable so we should allow him pick his best team, make his on decisions,” he added.
“The players must play for C.K and the not country, they should see him as a former captain and I tell you we can win the AFCON.
Ali was an amazing goalkeeper in his playing days. He was known for his nimbleness in goal for Accra Hearts of Oak and the national team.
He won numerous awards and attracted offers from Europe, but his career was stymied in 1993 when he got paralyzed. Ali Jarrah is now a goalkeepers trainer.
