The second round of games for the Group stages of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League were played across Europe from Tuesday to Thursday.

A lot of Ghanaian players were involved with their various clubs in the three competitions.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Mohammed Kudus was on target for Ajax in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Kamal Sowah scored for Club Brugge in their shocking 4-0 away win against Porto. Denis Odoi also featured for Club Brugge.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was an unused sub for Sporting Lisbon in their 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspurs.

UEFA Europa League

Thomas Partey wasn’t in action as Arsenal’s game against PSV was postponed.

Kamaldeen Sulemana saw 65 minutes of action for Stade Rennais in their 2-2 draw against Fenerbahce.

Bernard Tekpetey lasted 70 minutes for Ludogorets Razgrad in their 3-2 defeat to Real Betis.

Emmanuel Lomotey was an unused sub for Malmo FF in their 3-2 defeat to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

Malik Abubakar lasted the entire duration for Helsinki as they lost 3-0 to AS Roma.

Patrick Kpozo and Mudasiru Salifu featured for Sheriff Tiraspol in their 2-0 home defeat to Manchester United. Razak Abalora didn’t make the match day squad.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh saw 62 minutes of action for Freiburg and provided an assist as they defeated Olympiacos 3-0.

Kwabena Owusu was on target for Qarabag in their 3-0 victory against FC Nantes.

Osman Bukari and Ibrahim Mustafa featured for Red Star Belgrade in a 2-1 defeat to Trabzonspor. Ibrahim Mustafa provided an assist.

Europa Conference League

Alfred Duncan saw 12 minutes of action for Fiorentina in a 3-0 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir.

Majeed Ashimeru played 90 minutes for RSC Anderlecht in a scoreless draw against FCSB.

Eugene Ansah lasted 56 minutes on the field for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in a 2-1 defeat to Villarreal.

Emmanuel Yeboah and Nana Boateng featured for CFR Cluj in a 1-0 defeat to Sivasspor.

Kasim Adams lasted the entire duration for FC Basel in a 1-0 win against Zalgiris. Francis Kyeremeh featured for Zalgiris.
