Kudus, Salah, Mane, Amrabat make IFFHS’ 2022 CAF team of the year; no room for Partey, Osimhen and Mendy

Globally recognized statistical firm International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has announced its CAF team of the year 2022.

The statistical firm opted for 4-3-3 formation but surprisingly there was no room for Thomas Partey, Victor Osimhen and Édouard Mendy who were both fantastic in the year under review.

In post for the team of the year is Yassine Bounou who was nearly unplayable for Morocco in their run to the semifinal of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The back four is occupied by Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Ali Maaloul of Tunisia and Morocco duo, Achraf Hakimi and Romain Saiss.

In midfield, Mohammed Kudus who was a scorer of two goals for Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar was picked alongside Morocco’s Sofyan Amrabat and Azzedine Ounahi.

Current African best player Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Vincent Aboubakar were selected upfront.
