Kudus ruled out of Ghana’s friendlies against Mali and Qatar

Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus will miss Ghana’s friendly games against against Mali (October 9) and Qatar (October 12) in Antalya, Turkey.

Kudus Mohammed was invited by Black Stars manager, CK Akonnor for Ghana’s friendly games against Mali and Qatar in Turkey this month as they prepare for November’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.

However, Ajax have announced that the youngster will not be able to honor the invitation due to security reasons, adding that he will stay in Amsterdam during the international period as a precautionary measure due to Covid-19.

Moroccan international Zakaria Labyad, Noussair Mazraoui and Burkinabe international Lassina Traoré will also not honor the invitation of their respective countries due to similar reason.

Meanwhile, Tarique Fosu, who was capped at England Under-18 level has earned a call-up, Brentford announced on their website.

The 24-year-old was previously included in March’s squad just before football was suspended due to Covid-19.
