The Premier League brought us some exciting midweek actions in gameweek 4. A total of 17 goals were scored, we take a look at how things unfolded in all 9 fixtures:

BEREKUM CHELSEA 1-0 DREAMS

Dreams suffered their first defeat of the season in the hands of Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday. Berekum Chelsea as well continued their impressive start to the league season. Fuseini Zakari scored the game’s only goal in the 15th minute. Berekum Chelsea are now unbeaten in 4 league games, they are yet to concede a goal and sit top of the league table. Fuseini Zakari was adjudged Nasco man of the match.

ELEVEN WONDERS 1-0 ADUANA STARS

Aduana Stars suffered their first defeat of the season in the hands of Techiman Eleven Wonders, whiles Eleven Wonders recorded their first win of the season. Kwadwo Asamoah scored from the spot in the dying embers of the first half. The goal was the game’s only goal and it was enough to hand Eleven Wonders their first 3 points of the season.

EBUSUA DWARFS 1-2 LIBERTY PROFESSIONALS

Ebusua Dwarfs horrendous start to the league season continued as they lost to Liberty Professionals by 2 goals to 1 in Cape coast. Dwarfs took the lead through Siadu Abubakari in the 69th minute after a mixup in the Liberty 18 yard box. Mubarak Alhassan scored 3 minutes later to restore parity. That wasn’t the last action at the Cape Coast Stadium, Rudolf Mensah scored in the 90th minute of the game to make it 2-1 to Liberty Professionals. Liberty secured their first win of the season whiles Ebusua Dwarfs continue to struggle.

INTER ALLIES 2-3 ELMINA SHARKS

Inter Allies hosted Elmina Sharks for the first of three games to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium this game week. The away side took the lead in the 10th minute of the game, Star man Benjamin Tweneboah scored his first goal of the season, he reacted the quickest to a rebound. Nigerian striker Victorien Adebayor leveled matters on the stroke of halftime, he collected a pass inside the 18 yard box and placed the ball into the net, the goalkeeper didn’t even move. Benjamin Bernard Boateng made it 2-1 to Sharks in the 64th minute. It didn’t take long for Sharks to extend their lead, Ralph Ocloo volleyed the ball past goalkeeper George Apronti, 3-1 to Inter Allies. 2 minutes later, Samuel Armah reduced the deficit and gave his team the chance and hope for a comeback, but that wasn’t meant to happen today. Elmina Sharks won the game 3-2. Inter Allies skipper Victorein Adebayor was adjudged Nasco man of the match.

KING FAISAL 2-2 BECHEM UNITED

King Faisal welcomed Bechem United to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as they hope to secure their first point or win of the season. Kwame Peprah gave King Faisal the lead in the 30th minute through a beautiful header. The away side responded immediately, Prince Adu Kwabena scored to make it 1-1. Few minutes later, Ibrahim Osman scored with a beautiful strike to make it 2-1 to King Faisal. It was an insane 5 minutes of football at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. King Faisal went into the break with a 2-1 lead. Prince Adu Kwabena scored again in the 78th minute to level parity. The game ended 2-2 in Kumasi. King Faisal’s ‪Charles Adu Gyamfi‬ was adjudged Nasco man of the match.

MEDEAMA 1-0 ASANTE KOTOKO

Medeama welcomed Kumasi Asante Kotoko to the Akoon Park as they hope to extend their unbeaten run and also inflict more damage on Asante Kotoko. The home side didn’t waste much time to stamp their authority on the game. Penalty was awarded to Medeama in the 3rd minute after Agyenim Boateng was brought down in the Kotoko penalty box. Prince of goals Opoku Agyemang stepped up and sent goalkeeper Felix Annan the wrong way. The early goal was the game’s early goal. Medeama’s impressive start continues as Kotoko suffer their second straight defeat. ‪Issouf Ali Quattara‬ was named Nasco man of the match.

WAFA 0-0 HEARTS OF OAK

WAFA and Accra Hearts of Oak produced the only scoreless game of the gameweek so far. The game was closely contested with both sides coming close to breaking the deadlock on number of occasions. Marvin Owusu came close for WAFA from a free kick in the second half, his effort struck the side post. Hearts of Oak also came close to scoring through Obeng Jnr, goalkeeper Acquah pulled off an exquisite safe to deny the Phobia attacker. WAFA’s Ntim Andrews Manu was named man of the match.

LEGON CITIES 0-0 ASHANTI GOLD

Legon Cities welcomed Ashanti Gold to the Accra Sports Stadium as they hope to secure their first 3 points of the season. The away side started brightly, Sha‪fiu Mumuni in the 8th minute took advantage of a defensive blunder, but couldn’t find the back of the net as his shot went wide. The best chance of the game came in the 41st minute when Mark Agyekum sent the ball past goalkeeper Prosper Gbeku, Nicholas Mensah neatly cleared the ball of the line. Chances were had to come by in the second, with only vital incident of the half being a penalty shout from Legon Cities after the ball was handled in the Ashanti Gold 18 yard box. The game ended 0-0. Abdul Karim of Legon Cities was named man of the match.

GREAT OLYMPICS 2-0 KARELA UNITED

Accra Great Olympics on Thursday recorded their first win of the season after suffering 3 defeats. Olympics had the chance to open the scoring from the spot in additional time of the first half. Gladson Awako stepped up and converted the penalty, the goalkeeper had a hand to the ball but he couldn’t stop it from hitting the net. Great Olympics made it 2-0 in the 84th minute, Abdul Razak scored to finish the game off and hand Olympics their first 3 points of the campaign.
