Kamaldeen Sulemana has opened up on his future at Southampton following the team’s relegation to the English Football League (EFL) Championship.
The 21-year old joined Southampton in the January transfer window for a club-record fee of €25million from French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes, signing a five-year deal that would have kept him at the club until 2027.
Nevertheless, after just five months at the club, the 21-year old has said that he is open to leaving the club should an opportunity fall his way.
“I’m ready for whatever’s next. Whatever it is in the summer. If I got to stay, I’ll stay and help the team bounce back. If there’s an opportunity to explore I will take it, but I’m ready for whatever it is,” Kamal said in an interview with BBC’s Solent Sport after the game against Liverpool on Sunday.
Kamaldeen Sulemana struggled to make an impact at Southampton since he arrived in the winter transfer window. However, he finished the season on a high, scoring a brace in a 4-4 draw against Liverpool at the St. Mary’s Stadium in the final game of the season.
The Ghanaian youngster is expected to be on the radar of a number of European clubs when the summer transfer window opens.
Great work done
