Kamal Sowah joins AZ Alkmaar

AZ Alkmaar have completed the signing of Ghanaian winger Kamal Sowah from Belgium fond Club Brugge.

The youngster joins the Dutch side on a loan deal for the rest of the season

“ALKMAAR- AZ reached an agreement with Club Brugge on Monday about the rental of attacker Kamal Sowah. The 22-year-old Ghanaian will be rented from the Belgian top team for the rest of the season,” the Dutch side announced on their website.

Sowah after impressing last season on loan at OH Leuven from Leicester City joined Club Brugge at the start of the ongoing season in a lucrative deal. However, he failed to hit the ground running at the club.

“I see AZ as the perfect step for me. The club made a good first impression and the ambition appeals to me,” Sowah said after sealing the deadline day move.

When asked about his specific qualities, Sowah said: “I am an agile player and good on the ball. In addition, I am also a team player. I see myself as a winger, but I can play in several positions.”

Sporting Director of the club, Max Huiberts after the signing said: “We have carefully looked at an attacking reinforcement. Kamal fits the profile we envisioned, with his speed and depth. In addition, it can be used in multiple positions.

“With the addition of Kamal to our roster and the definitive transfer of Yusuf Barasi and Ernest Poku, we are ready to continue our chosen path in the second half of the season,” he added.

The Right to Dream graduate will wear the jersey number 8 at AZ Alkmaar.
