Real Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu has expressed his unhappiness after he was excluded from Ghana’s final squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Baba Iddrisu, who has been an integral member of the Ghana national team since making his debut in November, 2019 was due to be named in the final squad for the World Cup which begins this weekend.
However, the hardworking midfielder was omitted from the squad after he picked up an injury during Real Mallorca’s league game against Atlético de Madrid last week.
Per a statement from Mallorca, Baba suffered a grade I elongation in the right femoral biceps and was expected to be fit in 7-10 days, which is in time for Ghana’s first group game against Portugal on Thursday, November 24.
Nevertheless, Ghana preferred not to risk Baba’s state of health, selecting another player, a situation the midfielder is unhappy about.
“Seven days, only seven days,” said Baba Iddrisu in a tweet which appears to have been deleted.

The absence of Baba is a major blow for Ghana who will be playing Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in the group stages of the competition. Howbeit, Head Coach Otto Addo would hope Abdul Samed Salis and Elisha Owusu will step in in his absence.
