Nations FC have secured promotion to the betPawa Premier League after coming from a goal down to beat WAFA 3-2 at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Nations who headed into the game knowing that a win or draw is enough to secure them a place in the topflight league found themselves a goal down in the opening 10 minutes through a Razak Simpson goal.
In the 11th minute, Abubakari Gariba scored from a spot-kick to make it 1-1, before Emmanuel Agyemang scored in the 58th minute to put WAFA in front once again, 2-1.
Abubakari Gariba scored in the 68th minute to make it 2-2 before scoring the winner from a spot-kick in final minutes of the game, 3-2.
The win sees Nations increase their points tally to 69 points, 12 more points than second placed Nations FC with three games left for them to play, topping Zone Two and securing a place in the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League.
Nations FC will join Asante Kotoko, Bibiani GoldStars, King Faisal, Medeama, Samartex and Karela United as teams from Zone Two in the betPawa Premier League next season.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Lions have also secured promotion as table toppers in Zone Three, while Bofoakwa Tano and Eleven Wonders will be involved in a playoff next weekend to determine which team tops Zone One.
