Red Bull Salzburg have finally released Majeed Ashimeru for Ghana’s African Cup of Nations qualifiers (AFCON) against Sudan.
The Black Stars will host Sudan at the Cape Coast stadium on Thursday, November 12, before travelling to Khartoum to face the Falcons five days later in the reverse fixture.
Majeed Ashimeru, who was initially left of the 23-man squad by CK Akonnor was handed a late call-up for the aforementioned games.
However, Red Bull Salzburg on Monday announced that the midfielder and all other players who have been handed call-ups by their various national teams will not be allowed to leave. This came in after six members of the team tested positive for Covid-19.
In a new development, the club has confirmed that all players who were handed call-ups by their various national teams can leave.

Ashimeru has been in fine form this season for Salzburg, he has featured in 6 league games and provided 3 assists.
Ghana currently sit first in group C with 6 points after beating South Africa 2-0 and São Tomé and Principe 1-0.
