JUST IN: Hearts of Oak beat Asante Kotoko to complete the signing of Konadu Yiadom

Accra Hearts of Oak has beaten rivals Asante Kotoko to secure the signature of West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) center-back Konadu Yiadom.

The highly rated center-back joins the Phobians on a three-year deal after successful negotiations, pending mandatory medicals and official announcement.

The latest development ends months of speculation surrounding Yiadom’s future. Konadu before signing for the Phobians was heavily linked with Asante Kotoko.

The 22-year old enjoyed a great 2021/22 season with WAFA SC. He made 31 appearances, scored 2 goals and won the man of the match award on 7 occasions, the most by a center-back in the league.

Despite Yiadom’s form, he was unable to keep WAFA in the league as they suffered relegation for the first time in over a decade.

The youngster is expected to improve the Hearts of Oak team that has set sights on winning the Ghana Premier League and making an impact in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Yiadom becomes Hearts of Oak’s fifth signing in the ongoing transfer window after goalkeeper Eric Ofori Amtwi, Junior Kaaba, Zakaria Yakubu and William Bumekpor.
