Kumasi Asante Kotoko under the directive of owner, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has dissolved its Board and Management team following a 2022/23 football season which ended without a trophy.

The club after what has been a torrid season is set to undergo a restructure especially in leadership. As part of the restructure, Manhyia under the directive of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu has decided to dissolve the club’s Board and Management team.

Asante Kotoko’s board was inaugurated in June 2020 to improve the development of the club. The board which is made up 12 member during its tenure led the club to the clinch the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, a feat they failed to replicate in the just ended season.

The 12-member board consist of; Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei, Vice Chairman Mr Jude Arthur, Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi, Kwasi Osei Ofori, Alhaji Lamin, Lawyer Kwamena Mensah, Joseph Yaw Addo, Miss Evelyn Nsiah, Baffour Kwame Kusi, Mr Kofi Amoah Abban, Mr Martin Osei Kwaku Brobbey and Mr James Osei Brown.

Also, the management team which is led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Yaw Amponsah has also been dissolved.

Per reports, part of the reasons why Manhyia under the directive of the Asantehene decided to dissolve the Board and Management team is due to a reported rift between the two bodies, a situation which has largely been credited for the team’s failure this season.

Meanwhile, Manhyia is expected to announce a new Board and Management team in the coming days.
