JUST IN: Asante Kotoko file complaint with the Ghana FA against the performance of match officials in Super Clash

Asante Kotoko have officially lodged a complaint with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) against the performance of match officials in their Gameweek 3 fixture of the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League against Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The game between the two rivals ended 1-1. Asante Kotoko scored first in the 55th minute through Yussif Mubarik, before Hearts of Oak pulled parity in the 88th minute through Caleb Amankwah.

Following the game, management of Asante Kotoko after a careful study of the footages of the game has filed a complaint against Center Referee Serlom Yao Bless and Assistants Papala Patrick and Tijani Mohammed.

“The club after a careful study of yesterday’s game footage has filed a Complaint with the GFA against the decisions of the officiating officials,” Asante Kotoko announced in a Twitter post.

According to the complaint filed by the Porcupine Warriors, the referees influenced the final result of the game by deliberately overlooking three penalties that should have gone their way.

Asante Kotoko want the Ghana FA to take immediate action to serve as a deterrent to all other future match officials who exercise such indiscretion against any club.
