The 2022/23 betPawa Premier League will remain suspended for another week.
This comes in after a Human Rights High Court adjourned the hearing of Ashantigold’s injunction application against the betPawa Premier League to Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
The 2022/23 betPawa Premier League has been on hold since Thursday, September 29, 2022 due to a Motion on Notice for Injunction secured by AshantiGold at the Human Rights High Court.
AshantiGold are contesting the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decision to demote the team to the Division Two for match fixing.
The two parties met in court on Friday, October 14 for the first hearing, but a decision was made to adjourn the case after the Ghana FA’s lawyers argued that the lawyers of AshantiGold did not follow due process in filing the supplementary affidavit and prayed the case is dismissed.
In the latest development, the court has adjourned the case to Tuesday, October 25, when the judge is expected to hear the injunction case and give a verdict.
Meanwhile, the court has granted AshantiGold’s earlier petition to file supplementary affidavits supporting their motion for an injunction. The Miners have until the close of Thursday, October 20 to do that.
