Jordan Ayew scoops 2019 SWAG male footballer of the year

Crystal Palace forward, Jordan Ayew was named 2019 male footballer of the year at the 45th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards held at the Swiss Spirit Alisa hotel on Saturday evening.

Ayew enjoyed a fine 2019/20 season with Crystal palace. He scored 9 goals for the Eagles in 37 appearances, with his 9 goals earning the club 14 solid points.

Jordan in the process was named Crystal Palace Player of the Season and Players’ player of the season. He also scooped the goal of the season award with his solo effort against West Ham in December.

The 28-year-old beat Mubarak Wakaso and Arsenal new signee, Thomas Partey to win the SWAG 2019 male footballer of the year.

Ayew was presented the award by Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kurt Okraku at the Black Stars camp base in Antalya, Turkey, where Ghana is preparing for Monday’s exhibition match against Asian champions Qatar.

Kotoko skipper Felix Annan was also named local football of the year.
