Jordan Ayew’s impressive season at Crystal Palace continues to get better. The Ghanaian forward on Saturday evening scored in a 2-0 victory against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium to become the highest Ghanaian scorer in the history of the English Premier League.
The record was previously held by former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah.
Tony Yeboah, played for Leeds United between 1994 and 1996. He featured in 47 Premier league games and scored 24 goals in his 3 years stay with The Peacocks.
However, Jordan Ayew’s strike against against Bournemouth on Saturday evening has pushed him up on the list of most goals scored by a Ghanaian in Premier league history.
Jordan achieved the feat playing for 3 different premier leagues and in 129 games. He netted 7 times for Aston Villa, 8 times for Swansea and now has 10 for Crystal Palace.
The next player on the list is his brother, Andre Ayew who has 21 goals, followed by Michael Essien with 17 goals and Asamoah Gyan with 10 goals.
Jordan Ayew now has another record in sight, which is the most goals scored by a Ghanaain in a single Ptemier league season. The record is currently jointly held by Tony Yeboah and Andre Ayew with 12 goals.
