Ghana’s 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup representatives, Dreams FC defeated betPawa Premier League returnees, Heart of Lions 3-0 in a friendly encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Still Believe side dominated the first 45 minutes of the game and went into the recess a goal up, courtesy a John Antwi strike.
In the second half, Dreams scored two more goals to make it 3-0. Gael Aholou scored in the opening minutes of the half before John Antwi scored later on to grab his second and the team’s third.
Both teams used the friendly game to prepare for their upcoming assignments. Heart of Lions are preparing for the Division One League Super Cup to be staged at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex from Friday August 18 to Friday, September 1, 2023.
Dreams on the other hand are preparing for the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round game against Guinea fold Milo FC De Kankan.
The MTN FA Cup holders will travel away for the first leg in Conakry on Saturday, August 19, before hosting their opponents at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 27.
Should Dreams go past the round, they’ll come up against the winner of the game between AS Dounes of Niger Vs Kallon FC of Sierra Leone, with the winner securing a place in the group stages of the Confederation Cup.
