Former Ghana and Hearts of Oak center back Joe Addo has admitted that there were divisions during his time with the Black Stars.
Over the years, there have been claims that a rift between two star men Tony Yeboah and Abedi Pele was the reason why Ghana failed to win AFCON.
The rift between the two star men created a division in the entire team and that consequently affected them as they failed to win a laurel.
Joe Tagoe, who was a member of the team during that time has validated those claims, he admitted that there were factions in the team.
“In 1994, factions almost torn the unity in the Black Stars. It was glaring. I was not part of the camp but I was told about it by my brother. There were factions in 1992 as well but we made it to the finals (AFCON)”, he told Joy Sports.
“The media wanted all of us to be friends but it is not supposed to be like that. People from different backgrounds come together to play so it is normal if we are not all friends. What matters is getting results.”-
