General captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has divulged that he’s not done playing for the National team yet.

The forward who has led the line for the Black Stars since he made his debut spent most of his time on the bench during the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

He hasn’t featured for the National team since July 2019 and that has spring up rumors of his retirement.

Speaking with TV3’s Juliet Bawuah in a program dubbed #InConversationWith, Gyan cleared the air on his national team retirement rumors.

“It looks like people want to retire me but I’m not done yet, I had a couple of injuries, but I’m getting back to full fitness. I’m now okay and feel good in my body. I have added a bit of weight that I have to work on and get back to shape”.

Asamoah Gyan went on to talk of his total retirement from football.

“For me, what will make somebody quit football is the dedication. But it is still there so I still feel I have a lot to prove and do on the field; when I see certain things I feel like I can still do it. A lot of people have tried but I always say to myself I will call it a day on my own terms; nobody can retire me”

Asamoah Gyan is Ghana’s all time leading top scorer with 51 goals in 109 appearances.
