The Black Stars will take on Liberia in a friendly game at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 12, with kickoff time scheduled for 4:00 pm GMT.
Ghana will use the game to prepare for next month’s international friendly games against Mexico and the United States of America as well as the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that kicks off in November.
Head Coach of the team, Chris Hughton will head into the game with some few injury concerns at left-back, Baba Rahman is out of the game after suffering an injury in the 2-1 comeback win against Central African Republic on Thursday.
In his place, Medeama’s Abdul Fatawu Hamidu has been drafted into the team. Gideon Mensah is also a doubt for the game after missing few training sessions due to an injury he suffered on Thursday. All other players are available for the game.
How Ghana could lineup:
Chris Hughton is expected to make a wholesome changes to the team that secured qualification to the AFCON on Thursday.
Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen who hasn’t featured for the team since the Kirin Cup in Japan is expected to be handed a starting role.
Kingsley Schindler is expected to start at right back, while Abdul Fatawu Hamidu is starts at left-back, earning his debut start. Stephan Ambrosius is also expected to earn his maiden start, playing alongside Nicholas Mensah.
In midfield, Edmund Addo and Baba Iddrisu are expected to sit in front of the defense. Ernest Nuamah and Ransford Yeboah are expected to occupy either flank, while skipper Andre Ayew and Antoine Semenyo occupy the number 10 and 9 positions respectively.
