Tipped to be the next big thing in Ghana football, Aminu Mohammed signed for Manchester City in 2017 after being scouted by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Aminu Mohammed came to the spotlight at the 2017 Al Kass Tournament, while representing Red Bull Salzburg, the parent of his club by then WAFA.
Mohammed who represented Ghana at the U-17 World Cup in 2017 was tipped for greatness, but it so far looks like the hope of seeing him acquire greatness is taking a nosedive as the youngster’s career is getting blighted by injuries and his apathetic attitude.
The Manchester city youngster was sent out on loan to Eerste Divisie side FC Dordrecht at the end of August to gain first team experience, but Aminu failed to live up to expectations as his loan contract was cancelled after just 2 months.
Head coach of FC Dordrecht Claudio Braga said: ”In the end, Aminu turned out not to be the sort of player we were looking for,” he said. “Then it was not good for us to continue together.”
The youngster who had so much hype surrounding him has thus far failed to live up to expectation, and it is not even difficult to tell why.
Although Mohammed has been unlucky with injuries, he hasn’t done so much himself to maximize his potentials. He has made Instagram and social media his place of working instead of the gym or the football pitch.
The former WAFA attacker’s development as become a great concern to Ghanaian football lovers as majority of them took to social media to register their disappointment.
If only he could concentrate more on football than social media life.. very talented who needs a little bit of discipline and hard work

It's football and it happens.
As a young prodigy, there are so many expectations and your only option is to deliver.
I think there are other pressing factors apart from his social life.
Prospects like these need both psychological and physical training to meet expectations.— Nima Highway 🛣 (@KojoAntwi_) May 6, 2020
