Dreams FC coach Wilfred Dormon has down played the significance and efficacy of voodoo/juju in football.
The Juju topic in recent months has become a very discussed topic in the football circles.
The Ghana Premier league in recent years has been hit with a series of such events, with the notable one being in a gameweek 11 fixture between Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko in Dormaa in February.
Wilfred Dormon who’s a staunch Christian has in an interview with Ghanaweb, downplayed the significance and efficacy of Juju in football.
“I experienced juju at almost every club that I played. Each one has his own beliefs but I believe that to win the game, you need to have quality players, a manager who understands the job and brings a good spirit. There must be unity of purpose among the players and a strong backroom staff”.
“Juju doesn’t decide games; if juju decided games like countries like India should be winning. It has to be the performance, commitment, positive mentality and attitude. It’s a mindset and as ba staunch Christian, I don’t believe those things”, he said.
Wilfred Dormon in his playing days played for Hearts of Oak, Olympics and Sekondi Eleven Wise.
