“Thomas [Partey] is such a good player. I’d have loved to play with him. He is a young and talented player making waves in Europe. He is one player I’d liked to play alongside but it will never happen.”
“It is their time at the Black Stars now so we have to support them and hopefully they can take if from where we left off.”
Essien went in to reveal how honored he was to represent Ghana.
“It was an honour to play for the Black Stars. It is the dream of every young footballer and thankfully I realized mine.”
“It was a pleasure to represent my country. I’m lucky because I’m the only player who has represented the country at every stage, starting from the U12, U15, U17, U20 to the Olympics Games with the U23 and straight to the Black Stars. I think I’ve done enough,” Essien told Carol Tshabalala which was sited by GHANASoccernet.com
