Black Meteors boss Ibrahim Tanko has released a squad of 25 players as his final squad for the TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The squad is made 3 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 6 midfielders and 7 forward.
In the squad are the likes of Ibrahim Danlad, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Ernest Nuamah, Emmanuel Essiam, Dominic Nsobila, Abdul Abass Samari, Salim Adams, Emmanuel Yeboah and so on.
Kamaldeen Sulemana (Southampton), Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer (Hamburger), Kwadwo Opoku Mahala (Los Angeles FC), William Essu (Legon Cities) and Emmanuel Adjei (Attram De Visser Academy) didn’t make the squad.
Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer and Kwadwo Opoku didn’t honor the call-up due to varied reasons, while William Essu and Emmanuel Adjei were conspicuously left out by the technical team.
Ghana will kickoff their campaign on Sunday, June 25 against Congo at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, before playing Morocco on Tuesday, June 27 and then Guinea on Friday, June 30.
The Black Meteors are poised to sail through the Group stage to the semis as they target one of the three automatic slots to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The last time Ghana participated in the Olympic Games Men’s Soccer event was in 2004 in Athens.
